Pollini Home on display at Superstudio Più for Milan Design Week 2021
Pollini Home was born from the 30-year experience of the Pollini Group. It uses porcelain stoneware slabs in large sizes and different thicknesses to create furnishing elements capable of responding to customers’ emotional needs: a return to the material in balance between design and craftsmanship.
On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2021 Pollini Home presents at Superstudio Più furnishings and finishes that refer to the natural beauty of Italian stones, history of territories and traditions.
Notable finishes include relief fresco technique, pre-engraving, Wabi-Sabi, and thermoforming.
Milan-based product design studio Sapiens Design, consisting of Alessandro Mattia and Gloria Gianatti, signs most of the collections, with the Yso coffee tables, Ratio washbasins, and Civitas vase.
Yso is a pair of side tables that can be placed side by side or on top of each other to generate surprising interplays of shapes. They are presented in two versions: with hexagonal top and pre-engraving technique and with circular top and relief fresco technique that creates tactile surfaces where light enters into symbiosis with the material, embellishing it.
The Ratio series of washbasins is characterized by sharp, square volumes. Each component is individually made and assembled by hand through a handcrafted process that meets precision engineering.
Civitas is a vase made with the mosaic technique in the Wabi-Sabi style. The result is tesserae with irregular edges that give rise to an imprecise surface and lend aesthetic value to imperfection.
